Akane in New York

Akane, W 55th street at NYC.
16" X 20", acrylic ink on Rives BFK

My former classmate Akane moved to New York two years ago. Before she leave San Francisco, she was kind enough to pose for me in south park, which its favorite lunch break spot around our fine art campus. Anyway, this summer I was really happy to hang out with her again in NYC, and found her more stylish then ever. So I drew her again, in her vintage summer dress, at mid town Manhattan. We had a fun conversation about if we are a painting, which one we would be. For me she looks like one of the girl from Klimt's painting.

One of best things about working in the Mission District is that you will never run out of ideas about where to get great food.  Mission Chinese Food is one of my favorite restaurant in the city.

I  went to Kabuki Cinema at the closing night of San Francisco International Asian American Film Fest. Surrogate Valentine was showing at that night. It's a beautiful black and white filmed in San Francisco. Goh Nakamaura, showed off his beautiful voice and sick guitar skill on the stage.

Living painting is fun!

To try to show the idea " everyone can do art" on Vivid Artistry's Canvas line,  Gue and I were doing living painting on shirts during the showcase in 111 Minna Gallery.

Shirt @ Vivid Artistry

I was so excited when Lance, from Vivid Artistry, handed me the final product T shirt. We had been talked about the project over a year. Thank you so much for turning my favorite sketch into one of the most softest T shirt I have ever put on.

weekend morning in Nob Hill

One of the best things I 'd love to do in the morning is having a cup of coffee,( um, maybe with maple syrup bacon donut), also sitting in this cafe @ Larkin street and watch well dressed San Franciscan ready for the weekend.
